Cheerio is known predominantly as a Canadian company started in Ontario in the late 40s. They are very desirable among collectors.
I've not seen another like this. Stamp is black and says Approved for Beginners, Standard model, Made in USA. I couldn't even find a picture of this one in Lucky's book.
I did read a bunch about the history of Cheerio, which was really interesting. Mostly popular in Canada and England, and then moved to the US for a bit before Duncan bought them out. Based on that I think it was made in the late 50s.
Yo-Yo shows signs of use. Especially on the edges. But totally readable stamp and paint is all there. A rare yo-yo to make any Cheerio collector's heart go pitter patter.
